White Dog walked in first; she was returning from the Scot's Grooming Spa. Steve brought up the rear carrying bags of groceries. I was sandwiched in the middle and almost fell over as WD screeched to a halt right inside the door.

Tiny White Dog aka Bella who was madly welcoming us in the window when we pulled up was no where in sight. YoYoMa immediately made it clear that HE tried to be the voice of reason. Puff pushed past me along with Taiko (knocking me in another direction) to hide behind Steve. Oso, it turns out, had totally distanced himself from the mayhem by going into the office and going to sleep.

This is what White Dog saw...
No one was naming names, the WDA doesn't do that but the list of suspects was pretty short. And no, it did not include Michael, who apologized and tried to take the blame because he had been in his "cave" and had not been supervising the pack.

Although it cannot be proved, lucky for SOME Tiny girl, WD and I think that our Little Miss Bee is the culprit. The lamp sits on the table between the two watching chairs. The Army's smallest member likes to use the backs of both chairs as sort of a parapet to pace along as she guards the Ranch; she nimbly jumps across the expanse of the table. She is a maniac when she goes on alert and gets every other pup going as well.

The saving grace is that the paper shade is inexpensive to replace. The challenge is how to "smart" engineer the situation to prevent a recurrence. White Dog is already at her drafting table working on it.

Oops I'm sure whoever it was didn't mean any harm.

Museum putty might help. It is the stuff museums use to keep things in their place. I use it on pictures to keep them level when people bump them because crooked pictures drive me crazy. I do use it on one lamp but it is not in a place where it can be knocked over; it is just to keep it in position. You can buy this stuff at regular stores. Duck makes one called Mounting Putty.

I'm sure that brilliant White Dog will have a plan in no time! We dog lovers just live with the occasional accident like that, don't we? The love of our dogs is well worth it.

Dear Slimmer Pugs and JudyMae, these are both excellent solutions. White Dog likes the idea of being able to secure the lamp as it IS the perfect location for lighting. Slimmers...she ALSO is strongly considering the idea of just duct taping Miss Bella ! Thanks.
