White Dog and the rest of the White Dog Army were surrounding me as I woke with a start; my arm was across the stroller next to me cradling Oso. WD put her paw gently on my chest, "He is at peace now."

I moved my hand at the same time I sat up. it was the middle of the night. Oso had quietly left us as he slept. No more night terrors, no more fear, no more needles to hydrate, no more squirting food down his throat to get past muscles that could no longer swallow.

He is at peace. And we know Quinn and Nuka met him on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

Even knowing this, I wish saying goodbye was easy but it seems it never is.

Oso Marie Sehi-Smith, Oso The Fearless, Oh! Another White Dog, our Little Man. You were only with us a short time (His 3rd Gotcha Day would have been on May 17th) but you have changed our lives forever.

Hugs and tears for you and the WDA. Oso is free now and will be waiting for you at the rainbow bridge. But that doesn't make it much easier now, I know.

I am so sorry about Oso, yet part of me says I am glad for him. I am glad he went on his own and peacefully and is now happy. You all have lost too much in the in the last few months and I feel for you. What a wonderful life you give to all your White Dogs so when they have to leave they are full of your love and care. Take care & know you are in my thoughts and prayers,
Lucy (silent MOD Troy, Ohio)

I knew Oso was older and was having the night terrors and suffered from dementia, but not living near you, I was unaware that he was so close to death. Much Love being sent your way from me and my pack.

Mindy and Slimmer Puggums...six weeks ago when we talked with the vet about hospice we thought the summer months would be a slow winding down but then our poor Oso hit a downward slide that just accelerated so quickly. We were shocked at the speed of the disease's progression. Basically his dementia robbed his brain of its most basic abilities fro messaging how to swallow, walk, and finally breathe. What a horrible awful disease!
