White Dog looked at me in surprise. "How could we have missed this? It was a such a milestone and we did not even notice! We did not even celebrate or anything."

The Little White Dog of My Heart was fuming because eighteen days ago, yes more than half a month back, we passed our 3,700th blog post. And we did not even make note.

I understand on some level, White Dog's distress. This blog is, after all, the chronicle of her life. It was begun when she joined us as an eight week old pup almost eleven years ago. It is the record of growing up, and meeting challenges, and recovering my health and creating a White Dog Army.

It is the written confirmation of surviving and thriving; of discovery and revelation; of the power of simple everyday love.

It is who she has become...and all of us with her.

Three thousand seven hundred posts is a big number spanning a long time...but three thousand seven hundred NINETEEN is even bigger and longer and stronger, I tell her. When we finish tonight, we will go out and share with the others and in our fashion, we will celebrate.
