White Dog looked out of the window at the bright blue sky. "Looks like they were wrong again," she concluded as she and Steve continued the plans to finally close the swamp colers after breakfast. As the pups finished the last of their morning meals I looked out the window. A few scattered flakes radomly danced by. Steve hurried up to the roof.

For the past few days there has been much tension and excitement in our city because a giant blizzard had been predicted to begin today and last all through the weekend. It is to dump FEET of snow in the mountains and a record amount in the Sonoran desert area of our state down south. Seemed like it would miss us.

Despite Zsofia and Opal sitting in the yard most of the afternoon looking up in the yard. "It said we were under a Severe Weather Watch," Zso explained. "We're WATCHING!" we had less than a quarter of an inch as night began to fall. She, her sister and sometimes Benson devotedly watched...and came in every so often to shake the moisture from their coats and warm up a bit.

But now the flakes are joined as an army of invading white and the wind has picked up. Things are cold and icy. Steve is going to have to make a huge pitch for night time walks as it is one of those nasty nights where if we had a treadmill and video of walking down a forest path, the White Dog Army would opt for that.

The alternative plan that White Dog has suggested is a fast parade of everyone around the yard to take care of things, then cuddling together on the bed to watch the final episode of Sherlock and eat warmed gingerbread cookies.

So far the vote is 10 to 1 in favor of the WD plan...any guesses about the dissenter?

We're guessing Zsofia, too. :)

Stay safe and warm, dear ones.
