White Dog and the entire White Dog Army supervised getting the chicken and veggies braising slowly in the crockpot. Then everyone volunteered to test the "doneness" of the lemon icebox cake by tappng the top with a paw (or 11)..."ummm," Steve thought for a moment, "no. It is setting up nicely and by dinner it will be perfect." As a consolation, each of the White Ones enjoyed half a soft-boiled egg with breakfast.
As the others settled in for post-breakfast, pre-treattime naps White Dog suggested that she and Steve and I might run an errand to pick up needed dog food and a few surprises. Our favorite place to shop for the White Dog Army has begun carrying locally produced goat yogurt and we have been meaning to try it.
Once there, White Dog asked if they carried any rabbit. She and the store's owner, Lisa, both thought the idea of having bunny treats today was macabre and hysterical. So we returned home with a very special surprise...which was met with wild enthusiasm by the rest of the White Dog Army.
We hope all of our blog family took a moment today to breathe deeply the sense of Spring's promise and the rebirth that the season brings. Everywhere flowers are bursting out of the ground, birds are singing mating songs, and somehow hearts are lighter and full of hope. May you have the opportunity today to share a smile, a kind word, a hug...an act of love. May you treat yourself joyfully. May you take time to count blessings...and May you remember to ask the Universe to bless those who need extra help to feel the warm sunlight touch their souls.
