White Dog gently put her paw on my foot. "Don't you think that One thousand ninety-nine years is a long time to stay mad at Zsofia," she asked.

I looked at her. "Maybe I should ask that question later when you have had a chance to calm down."

It is a Steve late night which means it is my extra time to get things done in the office. As I worked, I munched on a a small bowl of nuts and a baggie of almond crackers...to hold me over until Steve's return when we shared a very late supper. Both were on top on my file folder organizer to the right of my mouse.

Zso came in to check on us. I paused to scratch her ears and give her a kiss on the forehead. She looked up at my snack. "No, Little One, Those are for me. You had an early dinner and will get treats when dad gets home." She whined. "No!" Zso trotted down the hallway and I saw her hop up on the bed.

I was digging paper to reload the printer out of the drawer at the left bottom of my desk when the crash occurred. I dropped the stack of paper into the open printer chamber and looked to my other side.

My file folders and organizer lay on the floor...in total disarray. The peanuts were all over the place. And my bag of crackers hung from the mouth of our Darkest White Dog, who was making her escape toward the dog door.

Of course, she did not respond to recall...but every other pup did....scattering things even further and wrinkling papers.

I scooted around and gathered the sheets and folders into a heap and tossed them disgustedly on my desk. I put the organizer back in place. "Have at it," I invited the rest of the White Dog Army, "any peanuts you find you may eat."

I breathed deeply for several seconds before beginning the task of reassembling papers into proper folders and refiling them.

I was two-thirds of the way through my unexpected new task, when Zso came in and placed her head on my lap. "Are you happy?" I asked her. I might not have stayed mad if her answer had not sounded suspiciously like, "yes, very."
