White Dog and the rest of the White Dog Army were enjoying a lazy winter afternoon's nap as I wrote thank you notes.

Next to me sat my morning cup of coffee/cream, mostly untouched. I reached over and lifted the mug to sip...and noticed that Opal was silently staring at me. I looked around to make sure I would not accidentally call the Coffee Club to session; but not a creature was stirring, breathing indicated sleep mode,  and all eyes were closed.

I signaled Opal to come over and share a sip. Stealthily, she slid off of the chair and dipped her nose into the cream (now floating heavily on the top of the brew). Opal moved with such grace not even her tags made a sound. She had not even begun licking or slurping...

...and out trotted Bella from under the chair to ask for a bit as well. Pearl fast asleep seconds ago draped bonelessly over the watching chair was now next to Bella. Still all of this was managed without noise.

The dog door banged and Zsofia charged inside to my side demanding to participate.

I looked at Opal and my now nearly empty cup. "How did they know?" I asked.
