White Dog shook her head. "The White Dog Army has some of the most caring and wonderful friends, Nancy's gift is incredible and amazing and I can tell has touched all of us, especially Pearl very deeply."

A week or two ago while out on nightly walks, the Army and Steve had a conversation with our friend and neighbor who wanted to share a recent shaman journey she had taken. It involved our Pearl.

Becca knows Pearl's journey as a mill dog breeder who routinely had her puppies taken from her. She knows Pearly nearly died from a litter that was necrified in her womb; instead of vet care she was sold at auction for a few dollars. Sometimes you can sense Pearl's deep sense of sadness and loss.

Using a Native American rattle, sage, and visualization Becca took a shaman journey for Pearl's healing. In her vision, Loving hands reach down, cradling a litter of Pearl's lively, roly poly puppies, they are still nursing and are also extremely healthy and inquisitive.  She sees Pearl smiling, her heart brimming with love for these babies, and there is a profound grief that lifts away when my guide has me blow the memory long distance into Pearl. It is the love for her lost babies being retrieved.  My guide says it is not one specific litter of puppies, but represents ALL the litters of puppies taken from her, that she never got to see grow up.

The shaman revealed  Pearl's favorite colors are pink and white, and suggested getting her a baby blanket to symbolize the return of the beautiful, well cared for and well fed puppies that will never be taken away.

I shared this story in its out of nowhere strangeness, that is what happens in this Land of Enchantment in which we live, with Nancy a talented member of our heart family who sews. I asked her for her help. And today this arrived:
It is unlike Pearl to boldly claim anything; she is really rather timid. but the moment Steve took the blanket from the box and spread it on the chair, Pearl came to sit on it. She knew. The rest of the WDA amazingly respected her ownership of the lambie. They came to sniff and then accepted that this gift was their sister's.

Steve has set the blanket up on the watching chair, where our precious girl spends a good portion of her day. Her lambie is perched in the corner of the seat. All evening my girl has smiled and dozed post-dinner nestled in peace. We have felt Pearl's recent attempts at healing and are confident that Nancy's gift will add a sense of safety and confidence as she moves forward.
