August 5, 2018

White Dog allowed Sue to stroke her side then walked over to my side. It was late and Sue had to be at the airport at 5am the next day.

"Why do visits with friends always seem to be too short?" she asked me. "The White Dog Army really does not want her to go."

Truth be told Sue really did not want to leave, either...except to go home to HER White Dogs. We said a hundred "until next times." The WDA invited her to join them on night-night walks. There was one last round of treats...and yet another round of photos and kisses. It was nearing midnight when I put on the momma voice and sent Sue off to bed and the WDA to sleep. "We COULD stay up all night and then you would not miss your flight," I teased. "But I think that would not be a good choice. We had a very full day today and you are all ready tired. Traveling is exhausting as well. I think sleep is a better choice even though we want to keep this moment frozen."

White Dog sighed knowing that Sue was just recovering from not too long ago anemia issues that almost jeopardized her visit. "You already promised to come back NEXT year," WD said. "And you are officially now a member of the White Dog Army, so maybe momma is right. Sweet dreams and safe travels. We will be awake to sing you down the driveway in the morning."

Sue is the Eskie lover who led an intervention to save YoYoMa so very long ago. She is a tremendous supporter of Paws To People and was thrilled to come out to help with our first Art Auction...and to meet the White Dog Army in person.

"You know the best part," Bella asked as Sue pulled a dust bunny from Bella's paw. "You don't even mind the floof on your clothes." Sue laughed. "Sweet Bella, remember I have six white dogs that fill MY house too. I understand. In fact, I think white furs are magical!"
Until next time, Sweet Friend!
