White Dog is having some increased twinges with a congenital nerve impingement that is not dealing with aging well. At her suggestion, we are trying some supplemental things before WD sees Dr. Julia the middle of next month. There is an improvement but we will take X-rays and do a thorough exam then to assess the prognosis.

In the meantime, we have attempted to keep the athletic Little White Dog of My Heart from jumping. I can see when she jumps up on the couch for meals or to cuddle that it is an effort and often she pulls back right before the jump to circle and try again.

In her youth, White Dog did agility so ramps and such are not new concepts. We have a ramp from the deck to the yard that every one of the WDA uses. So Steve ordered Our Girl a ramp for the sofa.

It arrived today. It is adjustable so we can determine the best angle of incline and comfort. But clearly there is some convincing needed. Our drama queen stood on the floor and shook, quaking like a leaf in a hurricane. Steve ultimately leashed her and led her up. As you can see she is not thrilled although the others are curious.

Steve lowered the ramp a notch and tried to coax WD to walk down. We increased the vigor of our praise as she stood and looked over the edge of the couch at the device...

...and then leaped over the entire thing to the floor.

Seems there will be a training period.
