White Dog helped Steve struggle with the big box that was delivered. Whatever was inside was tightly stuck inside and WD seemed to think barking was helpful in overcoming the friction that resisted Steve's efforts to pull out the block.
Finally the super fancy new dog bed, with orthopedic construction and a soft plush cover was revealed...a present from Andy, Sally and their mommy in Atlanta. Everypup had to sniff and rub against it.
All tried to claim the new bed and it became of Cinderella's slipper for Steve. It was too short for Zsofia's crate. Too wide for Bailey's. Same for Roman's. White Dog, Tizenegy, and Pearl are still in love with their sofas and beds.
It found a perfect home where ALL could share as a replacement for the mat in the toy area. It is a secluded spot where one could play without sharing, take a quiet nap or just watch the world go by. Bella tried it out first and promptly fell asleep.
The old mattress, still with much life though smaller, was recycled to the timeout crate in the living room. White Dog hurrumphed a bit. "I am not sure timeout should be so comfortable. Don't want anyone acting up just to be punished." I looked at her. "Remember when you told me 'Timeout is not for punishment but for rebalancing and calming'?"
