White Dog stretched and yawned. "We are at that delightful time between Christmas and New Year's Day when it is easy to forget what day it is and everything is very mellow."

"Tomorrow night will be noisy and sort of scary to some of us," Opal said shaking just at the thought of midnight hoopla.

"But tonight Christmas presents are opened, Hanukkah ends. And it is still the old ragtag but familiar year. We can watch the candles glow, cuddle with new toys and just chill out," Zsofia pointed out as she leaned against Steve for ear rubs.

Tizenegy got some weird looks when he announced that he, for one, was glad for just plain dinner (even the humans had  soup and salads) with "just a few holiday cookies to keep things festive."  "But," Bailey quickly chimed in, "we are ALL looking forward to ringing in the new with dips, cheeses and pate on New Year's Eve."
