White Dog understands her sister's frustration. "Go ahead and close the blinds," Pearl told Steve after dinner.  "There is nothing happening out there anyway. No one is EVER out and about any more."

This time of year in the past Pearl would sit in the Watching Window until walk time enjoying neighbors walking pets, cars coming home, and people strolling to the restaurants at the end of the block with friends. Of course, things are different now.

White Dog told her, "Better a little more time sheltering in safety than many many more months trying to get the disease affecting so many humans under control."
