White Dog is testing her recovery today. She is trying bites of solid foods; she devoured three sardines for a late breakfast. Equally important, WD has shown an interest in getting off her bed and walking a bit...still kind of hunch-backed...but walking.
When Steve carried her outside mid-day for a break, she showed her independence by returning up the deck ramp and almost making it inside before turning and asking Steve for help.
After dinner of crockpotted chicken and rice, White Dog walked into the bedroom and through the dog door before Steve could catch up with her. By the time he was outside, she had gotten to the back of the yard. He did talk her into accepting a ride back in.
She is napping now and minding my warning not to overdue but if she asks Steve will put on her harness and take a bedtime walk down the driveway and back.
The Little White Dog of My Heart is a champion. I love seeing light returning to her eyes. All of the White Dog Army are thrilled as well; Zsofia organized a WDA parade to pass in review while she was out in the yard this afternoon. "Brava! Sister" was the cheer.
