White Dog smiled with understanding and love. "It fills my heart that Bailey takes care of Bella when our Tiny Dancer is feeling unsure. And she does it without making a big deal; she is just there for her confused older sister."

Our Tiny Dancer, Bella is 13 and is displaying signs of early dementia; her eyes are beginning to cloud. Sometimes she seems to forget where she is and why she's there. At those times, she just seems to need a reassuring place to pause while she gathers her thoughts. Bailey provides a calm. sturdy wall of soft warmth for Bella to lean into as she breathes deeply and sorts through things bouncing around in her head. Bailey never moves away or objects to Bella panting in her ear. She waits patiently and when our Tiny Dancer is recentered, Bai shifts her body to guide Bella around her.
