White Dog moved toward her and then stopped. Subtly she nodded at me to reassure her sister that all was good in our world.
"Momma, could you hold me in your arms and tell me how I am your Itty Bitty Baby Girl? Tell me again how I will always be your baby and that you will always keep me safe."

I wrapped my Darkest White Dog's face with my hands and kissed her head. "Of course you will forever and always be my Baby Girl and there is nothing in the universe more powerful than this momma's love for you. Why are you anxious?"

"I was napping and all of a sudden it was storming and I was all alone in the middle of a place I did not know and no one in the Army answered my howls."

"Zsofia," I pulled her closer to me, "it was a bad dream, nothing more. We are all here and you are safe. Set aside any fears."  She pressed closer still and rested her head in my lap as I stroked her ear.  One-by-one sisters and brothers inched over to nuzzle or sniff then to sit close by.
