Renewal and hope. Perfect words to consider on this warm sunny day when an artist's palette of flowers are pushing through the ground to bloom. Leaves in the trees are unfurling into a cooling umbrella dappling those beneath in comfortable shade.
There is a promise in the air of longer days. of napping the afternoon away on the deck. of throwing open the house to breezes and fresh smells. of new WDA members to school in roadrunners, watermelon, and planting a garden...and sitting in the dark watching shooting stars.
We contemplated the cycle of life over strawberries, whipped cream, and orange ginger crisps. It is easy to understand why so many special celebrations center on this season. There is a pull to be positive and share our hope that kindness and compassion will take root everywhere that sees the same twinkling stars we do. For some reason it is easier to believe after the hard-boiled eggs are eaten and Opal has picked out all of the green jelly beans that we will be left with the magic of rebirth in our hearts to steer us toward the (re)creation of a world where all creatures know the fullness of love.
