White Dog helped Steve assemble the counter chair which pairs up to the table on the front porch where we hope to have al fresco dinners this summer. Her assistance basically consisted of sniffing everything as it came out of the box; lying on the pieces Steve was trying to assemble; and blowing her nose against the bolt holes in the wood. White Dog was puzzled as to why all of the hardware smelled like liver treats. I explained that the "bucket" Steve was using to hold parts had once held her treats. Several times she laid across Steve's lap and buried her face in the bucket just to savor the phantom liver smell. White Dog was frankly less than excited about the finished chair and hurried Steve to get ready for walk-time.
