White Dog is the White Dog Army engineer. Has been since she was a baby and would experiment with pushing various items down the return grate and playing "how do we get THIS dad?" So when the washing machine failed to drain She was naturally Steve's choice for helping to solve the problem.

It had happened once before and the incredibly nice repair guy looked around at the White Dog Army and called Steve over. "Let me show you where to check," the guy told Steve. "Otherwise with all of these dogs, you will need me to come here once a week." And he showed Steve how to lean the machine back and clear a final filter inconveniently placed on the bottom of the unit.

So after removing the wet clothes and bailing out the water, White Dog and Steve scooted the machine around so that they had room to work and both got down on their bellies.

Steve reached his arm into the guts and wiggled his hand around to unclip the filter. WD repositioned herself under his arm to get a better look at the problem.

This is what was found not just covering the filter but lining the interior of the hose leading up to it.

Steve whistled and White Dog gave a yip. "No wonder there was a draining problem," she said. "Maybe washing TWO dog bed covers together was a bit much," Steve conceded. The duo took a long time making sure all of the furs were collected and removed. When they were ready to try a test, the filter and hose were totally clear.

The test run still found water standing in the drum. WD suggested it might be a matter of some hair being stuck further up and a recheck found a small bit more on the filter. "Let's try another round," she suggested.

Three was the charm and all went as it should...and so did consequent loads.

White Dog and Steve sat down to share a bowl of cinnamon ice cream...a reward for a job well done.
