White Dog has a special "bedroom suite" in the office which is the closet floor with door left open. It provides space for a small couch and an orthopedic mattress large enough to share if she chooses. Long ago it was Quinn's space, in the days when she still slept in our bed. Now it suits her need for her own "go to" spot and room to stretch out.
Our girl has a congenital issue with her back which as she ages causes some tightness and discomfort. The old configuration of her space often found her curled up tightly, too tightly, on the small couch. This was fine to watch us work but not so good for a proper night's sleep.
She and Steve took time today to rearrange things to allow her closet space privacy AND stretch out room by moving the couch to the more public foreground. The tradeoff is that there is not as much room for her sisters, Pearl or Bella, to crawl onto the mattress and join her, but often they tend to "hog" the bed so maybe the change is not for the worse.
White Dog has not made a full commitment to loving the new arrangement; she is slow to approve change but she IS able to make herself more comfortable...and seems to like the new flexibility. .
