White Dog said, "Really, dad, how hard can it be? Turn on computer. Get tea. Make sure supervisor pups are comfy. Work."
On Day 2 of working fulltime from home found Steve doing training and helping others set up their own homes so that the main office can be connected remotely. There were LOTS of phone calls and text messages from coworkers needing problem solving or advice. There was the usual correspondence with his design team for projects he is working on. Answering emails from the outside resources. Shifting from one thing to the next seamlessly and often with several things happening at once.
"How is dad going to tell others how to develop such a different rhythm from time at the office," Bella wondered. Bailey shook her head. "Most people like the idea of working at home because they think they can stay in their pajamas, and wander around and be relaxed. But that doesn't get the job done."
"THAT is the hard part to share," Tizenegy agreed. "You really have to stay very focused and not be distracted by the Army barking at the mailman or browsing in the frig to plan dinner. Sometimes it is more complicated than being in the office."
"At least if you are at your desk people can see if you are busy and not interrupt or can come back later," Pearl said from her supervisor spot on the dog sofa. "Here, messages just ping in and pop up and actual drawing time gets put on hold to respond."
"I think things are going to change so that this will be the normal for a while," White Dog said. "There is a learning curve and some new routines will need to be developed but at least dad is home and we all stay safe from the virus."
"The hardest part for me," Zsofia cried, "is remembering that he is not available on demand to distribute treats. We still must wait until he gets'home'."
