White Dog excitedly oversaw the unwrapping of a special package that arrived addressed to The White Dog Army. When the shipper had been opened, the gift bag lifted out and removed and the interior box lid opened EVERY member of the WDA did the same two things:

Took a deep sniff of the deliciousness;

Counted the number of cookies.

Our thoughtful friends Andy and Sally Ann in Atlanta sent this gift to help the Army through our grief because Andy, a lover of food, believes tasty treats help soothe the soul. "We are so sorry Pearl moved to heaven," his note read.

"If each of us get a slice of the pizza," Bailey mused, "who gets the extra slice and the bone cookie?"

"Those are pretty big pieces of cookie," I pointed out. "What if each of gets one-half a slice and we cut the rest into small pieces to share on another day?"

"I like Bailey's idea better," the Army agreed. "Good thing I'm the momma," I insisted. "You will thank me tomorrow and probably the next day, too."

White Dog halted the protests. "I know that tone, momma is not going to budge. Let's enjoy what will be a good sized treat; it is not too long until dinner."
