White Dog helped me look for a replacement. "Let's look for something a bit more robust, maybe tuggable, err on the side of heavy duty rather than pretty," she told me.
Bailey has been venting her swirling emotions over Pearl's death with bouts of puppy aggression, aka chewing. The latest victim of the gnash of her teeth was the cute little seaside picture mat backed with foam. This cover for the sofa's ottoman was left in varying shapes and sizes from crumbs to strips which made its purpose of protecting the furniture from WDA mud and furs and "stuff" unmeetable.
White Dog and I decided on a simple grey bathroom rug, rubber backed and edge-bound. "It is thick to be both comfy AND harder to tear up," White Dog agreed. The new topper arrived on Saturday.
Today, the rug was put through its paces by the Army.
And by the Diva of Destruction herself:
White Dog and I are happy to report that all like the way the mat feels...and that it has survived the first 48 hours intact, with only a wet spot to indicate that it HAS been tasted.
