White Dog has a ramp to help her get up on the couch without straining her back or legs. Bailey and Opal enjoy the "playground" element it adds to the furniture. Even though Bai could easily just step up and achieve the top of the cushions, she prefers starting at the hall doorway and letting momentum carry her up and then throwing herself on her side to "slide" into a resting stop.
Bella these days is not much of a problem solver and the ramp, even though it is similar to the one out to the yard, has puzzled her. Until today.

Our Tiny Dancer was gazelle-ing in her crazy predinner dance of leaps and zoomies when she found herself somehow halfway up the little sofa ramp. Curiosity drove her to take a few more steps up as she looked for treasure and maybe a predinner hidden treat. She snoofled the entire seating area and found some crumb which she pounced on and ate. She was mightily proud of herself and settled regally to be noticed.

Bella proved the cliche "What goes up must come down" incorrect. When Steve stepped from the kitchen carrying Bai's and Bella's dinner bowls My Little Girl paced back and forth trying to figure out how to get down. It did not occur to her that the slanted surface that led her up could also work in reverse.

The old girl to too fragile to risk a poorly planned jump so it was dad to the rescue. I am pretty sure by the end of her meal that she had quite forgotten about trip to the heights.
