White Dog took Steve aside and had a chat with him. “I think Tizenegy needs a little Dad and Me time outside of his usual sitting with you while you work in the office,” she said. “Maybe HE can be your sous chef for dinner tonight. You know how he loves food and gets excited a hour before everyone else.”

Steve promised Roman that he was not being replaced but asked him to yield making the entrée, chicken chausser, to Tiz. “You can take over for the veggies, the risotto, and dessert. While your brother is helping you can section and sample cauliflower with momma and the girls. She gives LOTS of tastes.”

In the kitchen it quickly became apparent that Tiz was going to be more hands-on…and vocal…than was Roman’s style.

“Brown the chicken in butter, dad, until it has a nice searing.”

“Next, cook the onions the front group sliced until they are caramelized.”

“Gently stir in the mushrooms.”

“Return the chicken to the pot, then pour over the sauce mixture and spices.”

“Cover and cook for one half hour. Gee, what will we do for thirty minutes?”

“Hey, I know! How about making White Dog Army dinners?
And for his part, Roman helped with the sides and lemon squares for dessert. All agreed the efforts of both made for a perfect meal.
