White Dog called Opal to the front of the White Dog Army assembly and made it official. "Opal, you have been training hard and clearly learned lots from Pearl when she held the title of Watcher of the Realm. You have mastered the alerts and songs to convey important intruder/activity information that the White Dog Army needs to respond quickly in an appropriate manner. You are clear, concise and tireless. You have assumed the responsibilities of protecting hearth, home, and all of your family. You deserve to wear the tag of "Watcher' and have first claim to the official WC (Watcher's Chair). Congratulations. Keep up the good work."

The White Dog Army threw back heads as one and sang our a song of cheers and the deal was then sealed over a round of duck jerky.
