White Dog went last; she loves spa day with Steve's gentle lathering and rain sprinkle rinsing. She is small enough that I can wrap her wetness in layers of fluffy towels and hold her cocooned in my arms...

...Something that Tizenegy, who went first, is too big to accomplish. He loves the bath process, and despite the precautionary muzzle, is very passive. HE gets to snuggle next to me on the bed on top of layers of towels, his back against the length of my thigh and covered with more towels. I wrap my arm around his belly and scratch his chin wile Steve finishes the grooming with nail trim, ear cleaning, and eye wipe. Then Tiz enjoys a soft massage on his back legs and forehead; I can feel his body relax and his breathing deepen. Feet touching the floor after signals the removal of the muzzle, a treat,  and time for a good shake...then a nap because getting clean is exhausting work.

Opal makes Steve chase her all around the house to start the bathing process but once in his arms and then set in the tub Our Sparkling Girl melts into the experience. Steve took extra time today untangling and talking to Our Girl in an attempt to help her understand she is a beautiful and valuable member of our family. Then she stretched out to feel the fur ruffling breeze of the blow dryer and the touch of my hand running up and down lifting hairs and floofing. She tried to bury her head under my arm to avoid ear cleaning but Steve gently persevered and Opal won a "thank you" cookie.
As White Dog summed, "With all these sparkling clean White Dogs walking around it is so bright in here that I gotta wear shades."
