White Dog helped Steve adjust Zsofia's harness. "Do us proud," White Dog told her. "Try not to scare the others with your songs of torture."

With that, Zsofia and Steve headed to her annual wellness vet visit.

It was a relatively new tech who led Our Girl to the back to draw blood and do a heart worm test. When she returned Zso to Steve in the exam room she said, "I wondered what the White Dog Army was." Steve opened his mouth but she stopped him. "Don't worry EVERYONE in the back filled me in," she laughed.

Dr. Julia did not even need to raise the exam table. "She is tall enough that I can sit here and we are at a perfect height." Zsofia got very excited when the good doctor questioned, "Has she lost weight?" Zso instantly had visions of being told she needed increased noms and meal portions but then Dr. Julia flipped back to last year. "OK, I think LAST year someone misread or estimated 51 pounds. I would have noted her being over 50 pounds with her frame. And," she continued, dashing Zsofia's dream, "You are not at all underweight. Pretty close to perfect, I'd say."

Plans were made for an early March dental. "Her teeth have just a bit of buildup in the back. She doesn't look like she will lose any teeth," our healer assessed. "Well, she IS a very good very good veggie eater," Steve bragged.

Zsofia stood in her best calm Princess stance while Steve paid the bill and scheduled the dental; she graciously accepted compliments about how well behaved and beautiful she was.

Back home she threw herself into my arms. "Oh momma, I am SO glad to be home! I tried to be brave even though it was VERY scary!" Steve looked at her and raised his eyebrow. "Really? That is not what you said as you gave everyone kisses and let them cuddle you."

She looked at me ignoring him, "I went to the vet and they stole blood. I think I need extra treats just so I don't get anemic."
