White Dog knows the nasty damage foxtail seeds can do to a pup. The sneaky little grasses have seeds that cling to dog fur and work their way between toes, under eyelids, deep into the skin. Long ago our boy, Quinn, developed a deep infection from a foxtail that got embedded deep into his shoulder after migrating through his thick double fur coat.
When Bella came in this afternoon sporting one of the tan feathery seeds in her mane White Dog took her to Steve. "Dad, we must go out into the yard and hunt down every last one of these weeds and their dangerous seeds before one of us gets hurt. I will summon the White Dog Army to help you sniff them out. Bring your flame stick to burn them to their roots so they won't come back. We will meet you in the yard in five minutes."
