White Dog was as excited as Steve was. "It is here! Of course, we have to put it together but dad said that he would take a break this afternoon."
A while ago we made the decision to permanently make our office STEVE's. It looks until some unknown future that his firm will continue to work from home; even after the "safe" times come they have agreed that a hybrid home/in office model will be their standard. Steve's job is noisy and robust...filled with zoom meetings and the need for multiple screens and lots of space.I can work compactly from a computer cart and prefer mostly quiet. Toward our new vision we have streamlined the room and found in the process that space have been invented to allow another much needed addition.
White Dog now sleeps alone in the office. We have tried to get her to relocate but we cling fast to old comforts and habits. But often my senior Girl has needs in the night, like a trip to the yard or just arms to soothe and calm. Steve interrupts his sleep to provide for her needs but it robs him of much needed rest and really, a relaxing place to hold and rock a restless child.
So as an early Birthday Gift, White Dog asked if we could add one of these to the room.
It fits the room size-wise and is comfortable Best of all, it changes to this "Let's snuggle and sleep" position.White Dog and Steve made a few position adjustments and conducted a test run tonight after dinner; they pronounced the purchase ideal in every way. "Now, all we need is a proper blanket," she said.
