White Dog was struggling the last few minutes of her time to exerecise in the cart. "You can do it, Baby Girl," I told her. "Just three more minutes." She let out a little sigh of resignation.
Since we started using this handmade cart to improve circulation and to encourage rebuilding some muscle mass, exercise time has included the White Dog Army (of their own volition) gathering around her in support. Bailey usually lies in front or behind; Zsofia off of her left front; and Opal at her side. Roman calmly settles a bit further back, next to Steve. At the soound of White Dog's dissatisfaction, Roman got up and moved toward the cart. Instinctively I leaned forward, hands at the ready should an intervention be needed.
Roman was at ease and moved in a non-threatening way. When he stood directly in front of Whie Dog Roman tilted his head and sympathetically, gently, deliberately touched his nose to hers. Then he looked at me; his eyes asked me to release White Dog from the rest of her exercise.
Steve came over and together we unharnessed White Dog and I held her in my arms. "That was a great effort," I told her. To Roman, "Baby Boy, that was compassionate and loving! What a caring thing for you to do. What a sign of the progress you have made. Bravo to you both!"

Congratulations to Roman, white dog has supported him in some difficult tests, and he is supporting her now. And congratulations to Sue, Steve and the rest of the army for helping, each in her/his own way!
Go Team!
