"I am not sure what to expect," Steve said as he gathered the tools needed for bathing a Diva. "Expect a lot of piteous crying and the sounds of me struggling to get her wet, conditioned, rinsed, out and dried."

Everyone rushed in to cluster around me, glad it was not them but wanting to make sure their littlest sister was not truly harmed.Opal stood in the bedroom doorway where she could see into the bathroom...until Steve swung the door shut(an unnecessary stetp of his routine since it was not likely that Diva could LEAP out of the tub and make a run for it).

We heard the water turn on. Then we heard noises we had not heard in days and days. In the midst of the bath Steve was laughing and Diva yipping playful barks! We listened as she splashed and jumped at the water spray. Steve's responding glee caused the crowd to shift with wagging tails to the hall; Bailey nosed the door open.

Steve's shirt was sopping and the Diva ran past the towel awaiting her to stand in the middle of the Army and shake!  Wrapped in towels she was dried and cuddled while her sisters agreed that she now passed the sniff test. Twenty minutes later, I asked, "Where is Diva? I hope she is not in the ard rolling." Steve sent me this from the office:

He added, "Her reduced diet seems to be working a bit, I had to tighten up her harness." We would have cheered but did not want to awaken Our Girl.

Aww, we bet Diva feels so much better after that bath. And it sounds like she and Dad Steve had fun!
