Roman exploded into noise and action shouting threats and trying to claw his way through the acrylic barrier and the glass at the front windows.

"ROMAN! Chill, Buddy! You are making me nervous with your force." He continued. "Roman, come tell me what is making you so angry," I cooed lightening my tone and add an implication that treats might be available. Still, no pause in his frenzy.

Steve untangled himself from Diva and his computer in the office and went to investigate. "Come on, Roman, let's go in the kitchen," I heard him say and then I heard the front door open and close behind him.

Five minutes later Roman came rushing in to me (mostly to see if the treat offer was still available). I stroked his ears and did give him a few training treats while Steve filled in the details.

"Seems Chaco (the Malamute boy from across the street) had escaped and was on our front steps singing for Bailey. Chaco was insisting that Bai come out so he could properly court her and Roman was having none of it. I went out and was dragging him home; you know Malamutes who do not want to go are not easy to move. His people finally came out and got him. End of excitement."

"Don't for a minute think Roman is going to let down his guard; she is HIS sister after all," I said. "Even if it means napping with one eye open."

Good job looking out for your sister, Roman. But don't make your momma nervous by overdoing it, okay?
