On a cold windswept parking lot just inside Colorado, mill dog breeders Opal and Pearl joined the White Dog Army in December, 2015. Both had lived through horrible health issues as dysfunctional mill breeders and were nearly nonfunctional with PTSD. I wrapped Opal in my arms and promised I would always keep her safe. Steve did the same with Pearl.
In return, Opal became my most devoted caregiver. She is always at my side or nearby.Today is my Sparkling Girl's 14th Birthday. Where have the years gone? When did you become a confident elder in the White Dog Army? Thank you for sharing your amazing metomorphasis into a stunning mentor and friend of every member of the White Dog Army. You are my VERY special girl...always.
Happy Birthday from Zso, Bai, Roman, Diva and Lilly...as well as dad and I. Tonight we will party in your honor (as will your Rainbow Bridge family). Fish kabobs with bell peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, cauliflower to the music of James Taylor for dinner for my veggie loving Girl; followed by vanilla ice cream with coconut flakes and honey drizzle for a Happy Birthday Dessert. Here's to many many more celebrations of you, Sweet Girl.

A very special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you, Opal. Our little Yorkie, Bella, was also a mill breeder pup her entire life. She joined our family 2 years ago and was found to have a melanoma growth on her footpad a year ago. Fortunately the vet was able to remove it and so far, so good. She's had two body scans since the surgery and no signs of the cancer spreading any further. You puppy mill breeder dogs are so very special. You know you are safe and will never have to suffer again locked up in a cage, 24/7.
Hugs to you, Opal, and to your PAWrents too!
