Opal has been having  bit of difficulty with settling down at bedtime. She sits and enjoys final cookies and tv but when it is time for "lights out," my Sparkling Girl heads out of the dog door where she paces the length of the patio doors or down at ground level. Sometimes it is for only a short while before she comes in and sleeps either in the living room with Bailey or shares Zsofia's crate.

A couple of times this week she slept out on the deck until dawn. I do not sleep well if any of the Army is not safely inside but our senior babies often go out quickly in the night to potty and return so I am reluctant to lockdown their door.

This week held some kind of supermoon event and I am hoping that Luna's influence drew My Girl out to watch the night skies and now things will go back to normal. We have read some reports of good response from people using blue lights to help offset the Sundowner's syndrome that signals some canine senior cognitive decline. So we set up one of the lamps in the living room to  see if it will have a benefit for Opal. It is too soon to tell but if it helps our fourteen year old rest safely and restfully, the light will stay on every night.

We hope the blue light leads to some relief and quiet time. ♥
