Even after all these years Opal still opts to pass on nightly bedtime walks. She is happy watching the other girls harness up and head out with Steve to check on the state of the neighborhood. 

While they walk, Opal becomes the White Dog beacon watching as each team leaves and excitedly  calling their return progress up the driveway and safely back inside. Steve says the walkers pick up their pace as soon as they see the light from our window and Opal's beckoning face. My Sparkling Girl waits until all are on the sunporch before rushing in to tell me they are safely back.

It is only after she goes out into the yard with Steve and Roman that the WDA has bedtime treats.
