"Thanks for a jaunt outside today, dad," Roman commented. It WAS nice to get outside in the crisp autumn air and feel the leaves swirl around us. Of course, I also needed to clean up, I added. It was realy pleasant, though. Opal even joined us, and she almost never comes into the yard with us.
"So...dad, now that we're in my favorite place (the kitchen), what are you working on?" Well, I explained, we've run out of homemade dog food, and I need to make more. "But, dad, don't you usually use that big trough to make our meals?" Yes, in the past I've made your homemade food in the trough, but today I'm only using the stock pot.
"Um...will that be enough for all of us to eat?" Roman exressed with concern. Mom bought you turkey drumsticks, and I haven't had time to use them until today. I'm sure you all smelled them roasting in the oven, right? They'll provide just enough protein for about two weeks worth of meals, so we're making slightly less food than we've made in the past.
"ONLY TWO WEEKS?" Roman exclaimed with great concern in his voice. "What will happen after two weeks?" Oh, Roman, don't worry. I'll make another batch of homemade food to mix with your kibble when the WDA finishes this batch. Momma would never allow me to have the army go hungry. Speaking of which, isn't it about time for evening treats? A great cheer arose from the living room at the mention of evening treats.

Wow, that is a lot of food all at once. I just know if it were left to me I'd scoff the lot then demand more. I am a big cat though, so need smaller rations, allegedly.
You all look ever so happy, and expectant too. The turkey does sound tempting and I can see why you love it.

We are glad you both got some time outside, Roman and Dad Steve. It sounds like it was a really good thing for you both.
That is a lot of yummy food going on there. And treats, too? WOOT!
Us kitties never get to go out but you all have enough good times out there for all of us.
