Roman waited patiently for me to arrive home from work. He spends the morning in the kitchen, guarding the human and dog food. When I return from work, he positions himself in the window waiting for the next important arrival, the letter carrier (the "M" word cannot be used without causing an uproar). Unfortunately, Roman had to heed the call of nature, abandoning his position for a trip to the back yard.

As soon as he was out of the dog door, Lilly and Zsofia assumed the watching position. The letter carrier arrived before Roman returned to the living room, so the two Sibes provided the soundtrack to the mail delivery.

Roman was disappointed to have missed the big event but, as soon as the two girls left the chairs, he settled down to await lunch treats. "Dad," Roman asked, "can't we have lunch a little early today? I've been REALLY good. I've kept the food safe from marauding Siberian Huskies, Eskies, and Shih Tzus." Okay Roman, we can have lunch now. You can be so persuasive. I'm a little hungry, too!
