Leaf Drop Day
"Dad, what's happening to our trees in the front yard?" Diva asked. "I've never seen something so strange." Well, Diva, all the mulberry trees in Albuquerque lose their leaves on the same day. Today is the day! "But, dad, last year the leaves stayed on the trees after they turned brown. They didn't fall off all at once like this."
Last year was a strange year, Diva. I'm not sure what happened, but leaf drop day has happened for as long as we've owned our house, over thirty years. You only joined the White Dog Army last year, so you weren't around to see this happen before last year.
"Well, dad, I see an opportunity to go out and have fun. I think rooting around in the leaves would be delightful! Of course, I need to rest up before spending all that energy. Could you wake me up later?" Of course, little one, I'll wake you up later, and we can enjoy the Autumn weather!
