"Dad, dad, come quick! I've been watching for that pesky cat that lives next door, but I saw this bird that I've never seen before. What is it?" exclaimed Lilly.

"Well, Miss Lilly, that happens to be a robin. I know it's December, but robins are year-round residents here. We sometimes don't see them as much in the winter because they spend more time roosting in trees and less time in our yard, but one has graced our yard today! I'll run and get the camera - hopefully the robin won't fly away before I return."

Robins were very common when we lived in Chicago, but they're a rare site here in Albuquerque.
