"You know, dad, you've been gone from home a little longer than normal today. We feel a little cheated," Zsofia huffed. "Yeah, dad, where were you?" asked Diva.
"Well, dear ones, I had a new employee that needed some training this morning, and then I had a project that required extra attention, so I came home a little late this afternoon. I also have some good news and bad news for you. Tonight is my office Holiday party, and I'm actually going to attend this year. It's been years since I attended one, so I feel a little excited and nervous about the event. That's the bad news. The good news is that you get dinner extra early today!"
"Oh boy, an early dinner tonight! But dad, you need to be careful out there. The world has changed since you went to office parties years ago. You can't get sick on us. We need you," Bailey expressed with concern. "I'll be extra careful for all of our sakes. The last thing I want is to get sick, Bailey. I'll drive carefully, too. I'll be home before you finish your after-dinner naps. You know that I always think of you no matter what I do."
Opal looked at me and burst out, "Is it time for dinner, yet? I'm ready now!"
