"Dad, why am I so lucky?" asked Diva. "Everyone else seems really jealous that I get to go out and they have to stay home, especially Lilly who walks with me every night." "Well Diva, they may not be so jealous when they find out WHERE you're going," I stated quietly.
Diva hopped into the car after leaving the rest of the White Dog Army jealously watching out the front windows. She wasn't quite so happy when we pulled up at Dr. Julia's office. "Wait a minute, I thought we were just going for a ride," Diva remarked with a little lump in her throat. "Today is your yearly wellness visit with Dr. Julia. Don't worry. There's nothing wrong. We just need to check your bloodwork and give you a shot or two." I told her gently. "Did you say TWO shots?" she asked with a quiver in her voice.
Diva passed her exam with flying colors. Dr. Julia pronounced her very healthy and said she looked quite slim after losing three pounds since last year! "Diva, you're just about at the right weight for a girl your age and size. Well done!" Dr. Julia exclaimed. Even better, Diva's boosters were combined into only one shot rather than two. Tomorrow, we'll receive the results of her blood test to verify her good health.
A trip to the vet takes quite a lot out of a girl. When she arrived home, the entire White Dog Army sniffed her to make sure she was okay. Then she laid down and went right to sleep.
