White Dog was glad to be back in our "usual" summer routine where she sits with me adding inspiration and an occasional critique as I paint. Later, we spend time cuddled together reading and napping. White Dog feels this is in the grandest tradition of the Siesta, a rest time when the day is too hot to do anything else. She does, however, hate the term "dog days of summer" because she considers it insulting to busy, active dogs everywhere.
