White Dog did not sleep well because of the howling canyon winds that persisted all night into the morning. As a result, she was too exhausted to offer much help as Steve began construction on the tortoise's new 4'x8' outdoor pen. Periodically, White Dog was coaxed out to check on the progress but her feedback was lackluster at best--a quick yip and then back into the house to nap.

A new outdoor pen for your pet tortoise! I guess he will like hot weather?

Ooh...a tortoise? Cool! Is it a star-tortoise? Not sure if that's the correct name for it, but the shell has sort of a star pattern on it...those are so pretty! Grampa has one here, but we're not allowed to play with it. Heh! Hope you got a good day's rest that day!

We wouldn't like howling winds either. Do you have a picture of your tortoise?

Hi All,
Our tortoise, Mr. Tortuga, is a Saharan spur heeled tortoise. Eventually he will get to be 125 lbs. and will live over 100 years! But right now he is about 12" across and weighs about 3 lbs. I promise to post pictures just as soon as dad, I mean we, get the pen finished for him (hopefully this weekend!)
