White Dog looked at the huge tome Richard handed me about Chairman Mao and gave me a "we are not reading this one aloud together" glare. Over 3" thick and 800 pages, the unsanctioned biography is promised by Richard to be "scandalous." Even that wasn't enough to pique White Dog's interest--which i understand since the commitment to a book of that length on a topic that I am not passionate about is a little daunting even to me!
