White Dog went to his mancave to roust The Other White Dog so that he could see Daisy Mae and her family off. "I'm not going out there. It is too sad," He woo'd to his sister. Exasperated, WD sighed and left to resume her hostess duties. Quinn could not bring himself to face the beautiful White Dog of Love so he missed the news that she and her mom would be RETURNING next week to pick up the rescue bird they had adopted!
Darcy, a cherry headed conure, is a sad senior bird who has plucked her chest and back bald. Daisy Mae's family hopes that a real home and personal attention will help her break out of the stress behavior and have some true golden years.
When TOWD found out about the return trip (long after Daisy Mae was on the road), he was elated and started immediately making plans! "Your first plan should be, my brother," yipped White Dog, "a crash course is getting over your shyness...you spent the entire weekend blushing and avoiding the fact that Daisy Mae REALLY likes you!"
Late in the morning, Gregg and Candace called, freshly back from a trip to Arizona. They asked if they could stop by to introduce the new baby they had adopted to The White Dog Army. Dragon was insistent that WD, TOWD, AWD, and SAWD put a sniff of approval on the HWD's new brother. He doesn't have a name yet. He is 8 months old and is a Shih Tzu baby found in the dessert along with his sister sitting on an abandoned sofa. Like Nuka when she arrived to us, he was shaved down to skin. We welcomed him and immediately taught him the joys of duck jerky as we humans relished a Vietnamese repast. Then Dragon and his family were off to find a sweater for their new boy...and to introduce him to the fun of shopping on the bottom row of the dog food shelves at the pet store!
It was a good day! Rescues...and rescuers ROCK!

Rescuers are the best!!
Absolutely! Rescuers ROCK!
Your pal, Pip
We're so happy for everyone ~~ hope that Dragon shares his treats and toys.
My niece Sadie Mae was a rescue - and Mom says that she is one of the best dogs ever.
You should have a *name contest* for Candace and Greg's new little one. I'm sure Ollie and I can come up with a few good names.
Hugs and yips,
Cappy and Ollie
Awesome news. That poor bird, how sad. We hope he does much better in his new and loving home.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
How nice of Greg and Candace to rescue the little pup and we hope he will soon have a name. And we also hope poor birdy finds a place she will feel secure and enjoys the rest of her years.
Our Rosie, Gidget and Lola were all rescued from less than pleasant circumstances so we are happy to hear these happy ending stories.
Hooray for adoptions all around, and I sure hope that sweet birdie calms down...what a beauty...as is the little woofie!
Aww...what a cute new boy. Sounds like you had lot of visitors and fun. I sure do hope that bird find a place to calm down and stops picking all its feathers off. That is so sad. :(
More beginnings to happy endings. We love it!
xxoo
Jake and Fergi (who are going to have to live on duck jerky if Moma doesn't stock the pantry today!)
I sure hope the home is just what she needs!

What wonderful rescues you have noted in this blog. The beautiful Cherry Conure (poor baby, so unhappy she is disrobing herself)!
And the dear little pup! What a cutie! We are sure they will make a great family for him.
Thank you, Pretty White Dog, for your very kind words about our blog. We will probably show up a little oftener very soon.
Kisses,
Stella
hey White Dog Army,
What a great post because it is so full of happiness! My favorite kinds of posts! Quinn, your sweetie is returning to visit! Yay! Dragon's new brother is adorable! Yay! But, what happened to his sisfur?
And, Darcy is precious! It breaks our hearts, though, to know she was so neglected that she tore our her feathers. But we are thrilled she is going to live with Daisy Mae and family. Yay!
Please keep us informed on how Darcy and Dragon's no-name brofur are thriving!
