White Dog took one look at Gregg's extreme sunburn and nodded in agreement. The plan had been modified after Gregg's sunscreeenless day of biking yesterday to include indoor activities only for the humans. The White Dog Army sort of understood and we promised that Steve and I would take them to the Park in the late afternoon for a romp.
So we left White Dog in charge and headed to Albuquerque's first Coffee and Chocolate Food Show. As one might imagine, things could not get better than 2 hours of wandering through the convention halls nibbling chocolate in every form (including an exquisite spicy chocolate gelato) and sipping the roastings and blends of coffee makers from throughout the area. The only moment of sadness was Candace's discovery that the vendor advertising chocolate stout was a no show. Gregg was just grateful to be inside, in air conditioning, but glowed painfully redder as the day progressed.
Later, in the afternoon, grocery shopping completed and errands done, we returned to fulfill our promise to The White Dog Army. White Dog was out in the car in a flash; followed by Quinn who was more excited by the idea of a car ride than of a walk. Puff pranced out next to Steve and made a graceful leap over Quinn into Pumpkin. Nuka was in the throes of a deep comfy nap and indicated by her testiness, that she preferred to stay home and rest.
Sunday in the Park...good things to sniff, zoomies from end to end, green grass, 85 degree temps, and delicious shade:

hey White Dog Army,
Woofs you pups have been busy the past few days! So many adventures, and such wonderful food! So furry happy you got to romp in the park this afternoon. Sounds like you pups made the most of it and really enjoyed your time! Siku Marie, were you able to dye your fur green again today at the park? BOL!
How is that road runner doing? Send him my way, I could use the exercise! ;->
Sorry your friend was sunburned. Sounds ouchy!

Coffee and chocolate!!! Those are two of my mom's favorite things in the whole world. I think she might have just burst with joy had she been at this show.

Well, I would not be excited by the coffee but I think my excitement for the chocolate would totally make up for it! That sounds heavenly!
And the white dogs must just love that if they are in the mood to go they can but if not they don't have to - that isn't always the case with some dogs (my cousin's all have to go or all stay) so it is nice.
And for the sunburtn I must suggest an oatmeal bath - get regular oatmeal, put a bunch in a cheesecloth, put it in a luke warm bath and kind of squeeze the liquid out (but also keep it in the bath). I have done this when I had bad sunburns and it helps to take a lot of the pain away, and also seems to moisturize it so it isn't as peel-y.
Coffee and chocolate sounds wonderful but oh sunburn pain is not good and I feel that. Loved the pictures. Hugs GJ x
Sunburns are no fun at all.
Looks like a great time at the park. :)
Poor Steve, hope the sting of the burn has subsided by now.
Beautiful photos of all of you outside. Glad the pups were able to get a fun romp on a nice day.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara

completely off dog-topic, but if you haven't yet, read Honey the Great Dane's blog about her mom's birthday. There are the most amazing pictues of CHOCOLATE from a chocolate shop near where they live in Australia. I'm salivating just thinking about the pictures...
What a wonderful event - my mouth was watering imagining all the yummy goodies :)
I'm so sorry for the sunburn...I TOTALLY understand.
And to end the day with zoomies? Perfect.
