White Dog, Quinn, Nuka, and YoYoMa want to shout it out:

Today was her final checkup and
Puff is heartworm NEGATIVE!

She has beaten the Stage 3 infection that almost took her life! As long as she stays on a preventative SAWD is likely safe from ever having to worry again!

It has been such a long journey and not without some damage...Puff will likely struggle with congestion issues for the rest of her days but these are not constant and can hopefully be minimized with a homeopathic medication that we grind up and sprinkle in her food. There are no restrictions, Dr. Julia says Puff is a smart girl and will let us know when she doesn't want to play or run or wants to stop an activity. But her heart size is back to normal and she is "healthier than most 13 year olds" that come through the vet's office.

Our Puff is an amazing little fighter but we also know that your prayers and positive thoughts and support along the way added an extra measure of healing power. Thank you.

Tonight we celebrate in White Dog Army style. White Dog has ordered a feast of SAWD favorite food, lasagna with meatballs. And for dessert, pumpkin custard. She has a new stuffie baby to disassemble. Each of the Army has spent time with our littlest one across the day, sharing their own form of gratitude for her recovery. And later, we will sit on the deck, look at the stars, and thank the Universe for this special blessing.

That is great! Andy and I are going to be sending Miss Puff some fancy frocks to celebrate her life. My big sister loved her clothes, and I have a feeling that Puff loves hers just as much. If you ever need something in the future to cary Puff around, try a baby stoller. Not an expensive dog one, but try a jeep baby stroller. The seat is deeper, and Puff can be a part of the family without being left out due to heatlh problems. Sylvie sat like a human todler. Her feet would stick out, and she would stay there with out fail. Sylvie was part of the family, and she didn't have to get left. If Puff is ok with it, it might help to include her in the family walks and such. Try the Jeep baby stroller as it is deeper than most. Puff might just be able to sit in any style, but that was Sylvie's easiest fitting seat.
