White Dog and The White Dog Army’s Wonderful World Wednesday

White Dog has heard so many say, “I am only one person, what I do doesn’t matter!” and when she does it makes her bristle. She loves the quote from philosopher, John Stuart Mill, “One person with a belief is equal to a force of 99 who have only interests.” Those people, step-by-step, second-by-second, maintain the positivity of the world and shape its wonderfulness on a daily basis.

Brandon Hopkins is one of those amazing keepers of what is wonderful. He and his dog, Shilo want to make a difference in the lives of shelter dogs. He was tired of euthanasia being the fate of so many and decided to take a personal stand. Here is their story, as Brandon tells it:

While visiting local shelter in my search for a puppy I was told the story of a group of puppies who had just arrived at the Jurupa Valley Animal Shelter in Riverside, CA. They said when they arrived to open the shelter that morning they found a brown paper bag waiting for them near the front door. Inside were four puppies that were left there overnight by someone who didn't want them.

One of those puppies was Shilo who I decided to adopt and give a loving home to. Having her become a member of my family and giving me so much love made me want to do something to help other shelter dogs. I knew I would not be able to adopt every dog that found itself in an animal shelter so I decided to start All For One with the hopes of raising money that would help make a difference in the lives of dogs living in a shelter and hoping someone will adopt them.

I decided to name the company All For One for a few reasons, first being we have one cause and that is to help shelter dogs, and the second being with each shirt release we partner with an animal shelter in need and donate a portion of the proceeds from the initial release of that shirt and all other shirts sold during that period to the selected shelter.

The affordable clothing all bears dog themed designs created by me. Each T-shirt purchased comes with a silver silicon awareness wrist band imprinted with the words, “All For One.” It is silver to symbolize shelter bars. Something no dog should have to be behind.

All dogs deserve a safe loving home and hopefully we can have a hand in making that dream a reality.

The Other White Dog, Quinn, speaks from personal experience when he thanks Hopkins for adding his commitment, creative energy and business prowess to helping dogs to whom fate has dealt a terrible blow. He has saved lives and changed destiny. White Dog and the rest of the Army send White Dog woos of gratitude for being one person who believes that although he is just one, he CAN make the world a better place!

Wow what a great cause. The story of Shilo being left at the shelter is so much like Barney (he was left in a box at the door of the vets office by someone who just didn't want him even though he was still at the age he should be nursing). It is great that there are wonderful people and groups out there that do these things to help the poor animals out there who don't have a voice of their own.

YEAH!! You are right - if every person that complained or said "I can't" would just stand up and try, it would be huge. The world needs more people like this!!

Wonderful Wednesday is right! I join you in thanking "All for One". A great story...

I saw your post earlier this week about smoke in the air, and then I heard on the radio about the fires heading toward NM. I am hoping that you are safe, and that the smoke has perhaps abated. We had smoke from the AZ fires too but the winds have shifted so asthma sufferers like me are feeling better. Thinking of you.
