White Dog and The White Dog Army
Wonderful World Wednesday

White Dog agreed with the others that they would not have to look very far or hard to share proof this week that it is, indeed a wonderful world. The 2MillionDog Puppy Up New Mexico Walk to End cancer revealed numerous actions and angels that changed the world for the better, even for just one galvanizing day in one tiny little town in one dusty out of the way state (which many don't even remember to count as a state).

There was nine-year-old Tessa, who raised $157 dollars for the Walk. She turned in her funds as rolled coins and dollar bills.

There was the Walker who stepped out of the crowd to sing the national anthem because there was no one else to stand in for performer scheduled to do so.

There was Dr. Zach Wright, our state's leading canine oncologist, standing with a human lymphoma survivor, telling the group that there is a new hope...a hope for all that a cancer-free world is within reach.

There was the 7- or 8-year-old boy Walking next to a tripaw who confidently said to the pup's owner, "Don't worry, I'll help hold her up if she needs help on the Walk."

There was the teen who won a ribbon necklace for her pup, then a hundred yards later took it off her dog's neck and placed it around the little terrier held by a girl whose family didn't have money to try for prizes.

There were strangers putting their arms around each other in comfort as they stood in front of the Tribute Wall or shared stories of those whom they were Walking to honor.

There was the very real and powerful energy of friends from all around the world sending photos and wishes for success and walking in spirit with us. We felt you all; it filled us.

And mostly, there was the incredible certainty as the group massed to Walk under the clear blue New Mexican sky that we were truly united as one force, one voice, one invincible Army. And from that strength came the wonderful knowledge that we WILL have a day...soon...where
Cancer.
Touches.
No One.

And could there be anything more wonderful than that? Please carry the momentum and energy to the LiveStrong celebration of life on October 2. the fight continues.

Mum read this and there were tears in her eyes. All those wonderful spontaneous happenings. That little one who gave away her prize to someone less fortunate. All these things just serve to remind us that there is a lot of good in the world and that yes united we can beat this awful thing that is Cancer. Brillliant.. HUgs GJ xx
